Lyca Mobile Promo Codes: What Actually Works (July 2026)
By the Lyca Referral (UK) team · Updated 12 Jul 2026 · Independent guide — not affiliated with Lyca Mobile.
If you’re searching for a Lyca Mobile promo code, discount code or voucher code, here’s the straight answer: Lyca UK rarely issues typed codes at all. Its genuine discounts apply automatically — through tracked links, student verification or intro prices already built into the plan pages. The codes on coupon aggregator sites are, almost without exception, expired promotions or re-labelled versions of deals that never needed a code in the first place.
Quick answer: we found no typed Lyca promo code that actually works at checkout (checked 12 July 2026) — and you don’t need one. The biggest widely available discount is 50% off any SIM-only plan for your first 3 months via a referral link, applied automatically with nothing to type. One honest exception: on several 24-month plans, Lyca’s own public intro deal is half price for 6 months, which beats the referral offer. Both are compared below.
This page lists every Lyca discount route that was live and verifiable today, explains why coupon-site codes fail at Lyca’s checkout, walks through claiming the referral discount step by step, and does the worked maths showing which route saves more on each plan type.

Lyca rotates its offers often, so everything here carries a date. These are the discount routes that were live on 12 July 2026 — and note the pattern in the last column:
| Discount route | What you get | Code to type? |
|---|---|---|
| Referral link | 50% off any SIM-only plan for the first 3 months | None — applies automatically through the link |
| Lyca public intro — PAYG bundles | 50% off the first month on selected 30-day bundles | None — advertised price |
| Lyca public intro — 24-month plans | Half price for the first 6 months on several plans (first 3 months on the cheapest) | None — advertised price |
| Lyca public intro — 12-month & 1-month plans | Mostly half price for the first month or first 3 months | None — advertised price |
| Student Beans student offer | Listed at 44% off pay monthly SIM-only and 50% off PAYG SIM-only when we checked | None — unlocked by verifying student status |
| Free SIM | The SIM card itself is free with any plan ordered online | None |
Not a single live Lyca UK discount requires a typed code. The student figures come from the Student Beans listing, checked 12 July 2026 — the eligible plans and percentages rotate, so treat the live listing as the source of truth. Coupon pages also mention an NHS/key-worker offer; we couldn’t verify its current terms on an official Lyca page, so don’t count on it without checking Lyca’s own offers pages first.
Why typed Lyca promo codes fail at checkout
Search “Lyca Mobile discount code” and you’ll find pages promising anything up to 70% off, stamped with this month’s date. Type those codes at checkout and they fail. Four reasons why:
- Lyca’s deals are link-tracked, not code-based. The 50% referral discount is attached by the link itself the moment the order page loads — the official terms require the referred customer to start the purchase from the unique link. No typed code replicates that.
- Coupon sites re-label codeless deals. That “50% off code” is usually Lyca’s own intro price, or the referral offer, dressed up as a coupon. Click through and there’s nothing to type — which is also why the “code” can’t be applied anywhere.
- Wrong country. Lyca operates in many countries, and aggregators mix the sites up. An offer that’s real on another Lyca storefront won’t apply on lycamobile.co.uk.
- Recycled expiry dates. Aggregators re-date old offers every month. A “July 2026” label tells you when the page was refreshed, not that the deal is alive — Lyca’s ended free trial SIM still shows up on several of them.
And whether or not a promo-code box appears in Lyca’s basket, no live Lyca UK offer we could verify requires typing anything into one. If a genuine code ever reaches you, it will come directly from Lyca — in a marketing SMS or an email to your account — not from a coupon site.
⚠️ Warning: don’t stack vouchers on a referral order. The referral programme’s reward terms state that “the use of additional vouchers may lead to a reduction or even a rejection of the reward”. Your 50% is already applied by the link — pasting coupon-site codes on top does nothing for you and can cost your referrer their reward.
How to claim the 50% referral discount (no code needed)
The referral route takes about five minutes and works with a physical SIM or an eSIM:
- Open the referral link. Use the button on this page or on our referral offer guide. It lands on Lyca’s refer-a-friend order page with the discount tracking already attached.
- Check the prices shown are halved. One quirk: the plan cards on the referral landing page can lag behind Lyca’s main store, so the basket and checkout price is the one that counts. If nothing looks discounted, our referral link troubleshooting guide covers the usual causes.
- Pick a SIM-only plan. PAYG 30-day bundles, 1-month rolling, 12-month and 24-month contracts all qualify.
- Order as a new customer with a new SIM — and don’t type any voucher code. The discount is already in the price, and extra vouchers can void your referrer’s reward.
- Activate the SIM and start using it. Keeping your current number is a two-minute job: text PAC to 65075, then give the code to Lyca — full walkthrough in our keep your number guide.
- Enjoy three months at half price. From month four you pay the standard plan price.
Transparency, since this is a referral site: you pay exactly the same price through a referral link as any new customer gets on the offer — the difference is that the person who shared the link may earn a reward from Lyca’s programme.
Referral eligibility: what the T&Cs actually say
The referral terms sit as a section on Lyca’s official refer-a-friend page. Here’s what actually matters, in plain English:
- New SIM, new plan, through the link. The T&Cs say the referred member “must use the unique link shared by you to initiate the purchase”. Land on the order page any other way and the discount and reward don’t attach.
- It’s a SIM-only offer. All SIM-only plan types qualify — it is not a handset discount, and it’s aimed at new customers, not upgrades on an existing account.
- Your referrer’s reward depends on you staying. The reward qualifies after you stay on the plan for 2 consecutive bill cycles (PAYG and 1-month plans) or 1 bill cycle (12- and 24-month contracts), and you must activate and start using the SIM in that window. Cancel or refund inside it and the reward is lost.
- No published “cooldown” rule. Some blogs claim you must have been away from Lyca for 90 days to count as a new customer. The actual T&Cs contain no such rule — the requirement is simply a new SIM and qualifying plan bought through the link.
- The referrer’s side, briefly. Whoever shares the link must be an active Lyca customer when the reward falls due, and earns tiered cash of up to £65 per successful referral (up to £55 for 12-month plans, up to £50 for 1-month or PAYG), capped at five referrals. The full breakdown is on our referral offer page.
The maths: what each route actually saves
Here’s what the competing routes are worth in pounds on real plans, using Lyca’s prices checked 12 July 2026 (they rotate often). The referral column assumes the standard monthly price halved for three months — which matches the two examples Lyca itself shows on the referral page: UK Plan Super Extra at £15 → £7.50 per 30 days, and the 24-month Unlimited at £18 → £9.
| Plan (12 Jul 2026) | Standard price | Referral link | Lyca’s public intro | Better route |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PAYG UK Plan Super Extra 75GB | £15 / 30 days | £7.50 × 3 — saves £22.50 | 50% off the first month at most, where Lyca runs an intro — saves up to £7.50 | Referral |
| 1-month rolling Unlimited | £24/mo | £12 × 3 — saves £36 | £12 first month — saves £12 | Referral |
| 12-month 90GB | £12/mo | £6 × 3 — saves £18 | £6 first 3 months — saves £18 | Tie |
| 24-month Unlimited | £18/mo | £9 × 3 — saves £27 | £9 first 6 months — saves £54 | Lyca’s own intro |
Two caveats. First, nothing published says the referral discount stacks on top of intro pricing — assume it replaces it, and treat the price on the checkout screen of the link journey as definitive. Second, these are July 2026 prices; re-run the comparison on the day you buy.
Which discount wins for your plan type
Pulling it together by plan type, as of 12 July 2026:
- PAYG 30-day bundles: the referral link wins comfortably. Lyca’s own intro pricing — where a bundle has one — is first-month-only; the referral gives you three half-price cycles.
- 1-month rolling plans: referral wins on almost all of them — public intros are mostly first month only. (The small 6GB plan already gets 3 months half price publicly, so that one’s a tie.)
- 12-month contracts: mixed. The 90GB plan and above already get 3 months half price publicly — a tie with the referral. The cheapest 10GB and 40GB plans get first month only, so the referral wins there.
- 24-month contracts: often Lyca’s own deal wins. The 100GB, 120GB, Unlimited and Unlimited Plus plans were half price for 6 months in July 2026 — double the referral’s duration. The cheaper 12GB and 50GB get 3 months, a tie.
- Students: compare the Student Beans unlock against the referral for your specific plan before buying — the percentages and eligible plans rotate.
💡 Tip: open Lyca’s plan page in one tab and the referral journey in another, and compare the checkout totals for the same plan. The checkout price settles every argument a plan card starts.
Whichever route you take, know what you’re buying into before committing to 24 months: Lyca’s value is genuinely strong, but its service reputation is mixed — our honest Lyca Mobile review covers both sides.
Expired Lyca offers still floating around
Deals you’ll still see advertised around the web that no longer exist:
- The 30-day free trial SIM — ended. Lyca ran a free trial, and its own blog post about it now carries an expiry disclaimer, but coupon pages keep listing it. No code brings it back. If free-to-start is what you’re after, the SIM card itself is still free with any plan ordered online — see our free Lyca SIM guide.
- Jumbo “60–70% off” codes. No verified current Lyca UK promotion goes deeper than half price. They’re recycled headlines built to win a click, not a discount.
- Out-of-date intro prices. Lyca rotates plan promos frequently — a price quoted in an article from a few months ago may simply no longer be on sale. Trust dated pages and Lyca’s own checkout, in that order.
Simple rule: if a deal isn’t on this page or on lycamobile.co.uk today, assume it’s gone. The referral discount below is live — the link was confirmed end-to-end on 12 July 2026.

Claim 50% Off NowFrequently asked questions
Does Lyca Mobile have promo codes for existing customers?
Rarely. Every discount live on 12 July 2026 — the referral link, Lyca’s intro prices and the Student Beans unlock — is aimed at new customers taking out a new SIM. Any genuine existing-customer offer arrives directly from Lyca — by SMS, email or the My Lyca Mobile app — not via a coupon site, and there’s no public code to type in. If you’re already with Lyca, the better opportunity is the other side of the programme: share your own referral link and earn tiered cash of up to £65 per friend who joins, capped at five successful referrals.
Can I stack the referral discount with a promo code or intro offer?
Assume not. Nothing in the published terms says the 50% referral discount stacks on top of Lyca’s intro pricing, and the programme’s reward terms explicitly warn that using additional vouchers can reduce or void the referral reward. The practical rule: pick one route, go through it cleanly, and treat the checkout price as final. If the total on the referral journey isn’t cheaper than Lyca’s public price for the same plan — as with the 24-month plans that get 6 months half price — buy through the public deal instead.
Where do I enter a promo code on the Lyca Mobile website?
You almost certainly don’t need to. Every Lyca UK discount we could verify as live in July 2026 applies automatically — through the referral link, the advertised intro price or Student Beans verification — with nothing typed at checkout. If Lyca ever issues you a genuine code, for example in a marketing SMS or an email to your account, the offer message itself will say exactly where and how to redeem it. Codes copied from third-party coupon sites are not that, and won’t apply.
Is there a Lyca Mobile student discount?
Yes — through Student Beans, not a code. When we checked on 12 July 2026, the Student Beans listing showed 44% off pay monthly SIM-only and 50% off PAYG SIM-only, unlocked by verifying your student status on the Student Beans platform. The eligible plans and percentages rotate, so check the live listing before deciding. It’s worth comparing against the referral link’s 50% off for 3 months — on some plans the referral route works out the same or better, and it doesn’t require student verification.
Is there a Lyca free trial code or free SIM code?
The 30-day free trial SIM has ended — Lyca’s own blog post about it now carries an expiry disclaimer, even though coupon sites still advertise it. No code revives an ended promotion. What is still true: the SIM card itself is free whenever you order any plan online, on physical SIM or eSIM, and there’s no credit check on PAYG plans. So the realistic “free start” today is a free SIM plus 50% off your first three months via the referral link — details in our free SIM guide.
How long does the Lyca referral discount last, and what happens after?
Three months. You pay half the standard plan price for your first three billing cycles, then the plan reverts to its normal price. On PAYG bundles and 1-month rolling plans you’re free to leave, switch or downgrade at any point after that. On 12- and 24-month contracts you’re committed for the full term — so judge the plan on its standard price, not the discounted one. One reassurance on the long contracts: Lyca’s 24-month SIM-only page advertised “no mid-contract price increases” when we checked on 12 July 2026.
